20. House and Home
Some people immediately feel at home in a new area. You only have to go one block further and find the right property to buy or an apartment to rent. Others need time to settle in, to weigh pros and cons. None of them are better or worse. It only depends on your individual ideas and your personality.
If you decide to rent for a limited period of time, it is best to rent in the area in which you want to buy. You get up close and personal and may find that you’d rather look elsewhere. Better to reschedule now than later.
When the right place is found, it’s time to take care of the phone, internet, electricity, and heating material, and get the home insured.
